Codebase planning
A codebase planning engagement turns ambiguity into a sequence your team can execute.
1. Intake and access
You describe the system, constraints, and pain (merge friction, outages, scaling limits). We agree NDA terms, repository access, and who attends sessions.
2. Structural read
We trace build graphs, service dependencies, and test coverage hotspots. The goal is an accurate picture of coupling—not a vanity diagram.
3. Decision workshops
Advisory time focuses on choices: where to cut modules, how to stage migrations, what to instrument first. We capture decisions in short ADR-style notes.
4. Scoped delivery plan
If you want implementation help, we draft milestones with explicit out-of-scope boundaries. Fees attach to that written plan only after you approve it.
5. Handover
Whether we implement or you do, you leave with a prioritized backlog slice and architecture notes tied to real paths in the repo.
